Microsoft wants Yahoo at any cost

February 21, 2008

Microsoft swallows Yahoo

After the denial of offer placed by Microsoft to acquire Yahoo for some $41 dollar along with Microsoft’s own share and stocks, things are getting pretty hard for both sides. Microsoft’s appeal has been declined which made Microsoft think different way. We all know Microsoft,Money and Monopoly, they’re somewhat synonym to each other. Microsoft has money power and it’s using this power.

Yahoo think they’ve been undervalued, whereas, Microsoft think the offer was reasonable. If you ask me, I think Microsoft’s offer was appropriate for Yahoo. There is nothing wrong with the acquisition offer, after all, it’s $41 billion. The main objective of Microsoft is to get some stand in the search engine business. That’s not possible unless there are lots of fishes in the same pond. Microsoft can’t think of gulping Google, because, Google is as huge as whale and to leap forward, Microsoft has to start with other contending fishes. By the way, this is just my mere analogy and that’s how I’m seeing the present scenario between these companies.

Wordpress.com survives DoS attack

February 19, 2008

My old blog http://infotechnepal.wordpress.com had some minor issues and I found it’s having some sort of problem. My regular password failed me. I didn’t care much and this evening, the official news confirmed that the wordpress.com server was hit by DoS(denial-of-service) attack. DoS is a sort of attack when purposely sudden increase in abnormal traffic happens, the only reason being to collapse the website or slow it down or to make it inaccessible.

According to Matt of wordpress.com, 6 Gigabits of sudden incoming traffic made some blogs inaccessible for definite period of time.

Best Buy to compensate $54 million???

February 14, 2008

Do you know who is Raelyn Campbell?? She is the woman, a real stern Woman whom I somewhat support. She recently filed a lawsuit against one big company claiming compensation of hopping $54 million for her lost laptop? and the reason I support her is.. well, lemme tell you what happened recently.

She sent her laptop to the store from where she bought it. The reason she sent her laptop is because, it got some problems and needed some repair. But instead of sending it back to her, they lost it somewhere dunno where. The store that she bought her laptop from was Best Buy. I didn’t know about Best Buy before but once I came here, I found out it’s a big consumer electronic store here in USA whose branches are scattered all over the states. I don’t blame the Company itself, I blame those raccoons at Best Buy who were supposed to take care of their customer’s property properly. According to Campbell, those raccoons didn’t pay much attention to her problems, they took months to repair one laptop and moreover they lost it. It was well enough to infuriate someone normal people like Campbell. But, again Was it reasonable enough to ask them for $54 million???

She,infact, started asking her compensation with $2100 for her lost $1100 laptop. Instead, General Manager of Best buy disregarded it and wrote email back with irresponsible reply.

Edison Chen,A fool and Technology

February 11, 2008

Edison CHEN sex pictures

Edison Chen, is a buzz-word these days in Hongkong and among the circle whoever knows him more or little about. I really never did know about who this guy is unless I came to know about the SEX SCANDAL news about him from my fellow blogger Vickie. I found him acted in Grudge 2. The movie that I’ve watched and quite scary ,Grudge I was terrific though(I’m sure he might have acted in couple of other good movies too). So, the actor is Edison Chen. Why am I writing about the sex scandal of some celebrity guy whom I don’t even know or care about? Is it for cheap publicity of my blog? Nope, because, Technology became curse for him. And, whenever things are related with Technology, I write or post words about it. I’m not against Technology and demoting Technology in anyway. I always praised and still praise the good things that Technology has brought to us. And I equally write on when people became as foolish as Edison Chen and ended up being some jerk. Now, most of his fans must be upset. To my consent, it’s not going to do any better to his career. The companies will be thinking many times before engaging with him. But wait, it’s personal life, who cares. ha ha ha.. If ‘who cares’ would have worked than today, Bill Clinton would have been living a presidential life. So, that guy, known as Edison Chen is screwed up bigtime.

Fans protest Microsoft’s plan to dump XP

February 8, 2008

Goodbye, Windows XP.
Microsoft, which released its latest operating system, Vista, last year, plans to stop selling Windows XP in stores and through its PC partners on June 30.

It’s a typical move in the high-tech industry, as older models make way for new ones. But in this case, the shift has been met with some grumbling, given the criticism Windows Vista has received and reports that users were “upgrading” their Vista computers to XP.

InfoWorld, a site for information technology specialists, started a petition last month urging Microsoft to continue selling XP. So far, it has collected 80,000 signatures and impassioned pleas.
