Microsoft wants Yahoo at any cost

February 21, 2008

Microsoft swallows Yahoo

After the denial of offer placed by Microsoft to acquire Yahoo for some $41 dollar along with Microsoft’s own share and stocks, things are getting pretty hard for both sides. Microsoft’s appeal has been declined which made Microsoft think different way. We all know Microsoft,Money and Monopoly, they’re somewhat synonym to each other. Microsoft has money power and it’s using this power.

Yahoo think they’ve been undervalued, whereas, Microsoft think the offer was reasonable. If you ask me, I think Microsoft’s offer was appropriate for Yahoo. There is nothing wrong with the acquisition offer, after all, it’s $41 billion. The main objective of Microsoft is to get some stand in the search engine business. That’s not possible unless there are lots of fishes in the same pond. Microsoft can’t think of gulping Google, because, Google is as huge as whale and to leap forward, Microsoft has to start with other contending fishes. By the way, this is just my mere analogy and that’s how I’m seeing the present scenario between these companies.

Coming to the point, if Yahoo rethink the offer, things will settle without hassles but if it didn’t go as Microsoft expected, things are going to be more harsh. Microsoft will use some strategy called “proxy fight” which will definitely bring Yahoo into it’s knee and that day would not be regarded as good day for both of these companies.

What happens according to my opinion:
- Microsoft will wait for agreeable consent of yahoo
- If Yahoo don’t take a favorable decision, Microsoft will intensify it’s strategy
- That strategy would include breaking down Yahoo’s Board members.
- If that happens, Yahoo will gradually loose it’s market share
- Slowly Microsoft will buy all the employees of yahoo in anyway
- Microsoft will flow the money as water to get to it’s objectives
- Yahoo will loose even more market share.
- No legal prosecutor or suitor will come forward to face Microsoft and save Yahoo, because, the deal was not so offensive.
- I think Yahoo is demanding more of what it values
- If all these above things happened subsequently, Yahoo’s value will definitely go down and I’m not sure, if It’ll get that offered value by Microsoft.
- Microsoft will win the race and Yahoo will come under it’s reign.
This will be disrespectful defeat of Yahoo. So, I wish everything settles down without hassle. Or, Microsoft could have some unexpected consequences too. Till now, Google is silent. :)

Yahoo is just playing “hard to get” or “don’t get me” . Yahoo does not want to be sold to Microsoft. I think they are just pushing Microsoft to offer a ridiculous price to add value to their brand. Or, they are just using this buy out thing as a promotion to gain popularity over Google ( I mean they are in this together right? ) . If I am wrong, then the only way that Microsoft will acquire Yahoo is to make a ridiculously large offer.
