Why I hate Firefox??

January 25, 2008

I’ve been using varieties of web browsers. Internet Explorer,Firefox,Opera,Flock,Safari etc. Mostly, I used Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer 7.

I know, I’m not a foolish and don’t care much about Mozilla Firefox’s penetrative marketing strategy. No matter, even if thousands blogs pop up praising Firefox or IE, I’ll use my conscience before making judgment. I didn’t care much when people wrote FireFox got downloaded(I know this is the most hyped browser in the world) this million within this and that month,IE 7 is the ultimate browser -hacker proof, blah blah blah. They were not working just talking, precisely bragging. (sorry hundreds of programmers beyond those projects, I know how hard it was for you guys making these applications work but I hated your marketing bluffer. )

When web browser evolved, I still remember, there used to be Netscape Navigator in scene. Today, it’s nowhere. But , I must admit, it was Microsoft’s Internet Explorer which showed me the way to the galaxy of Information for the very first time. I never liked Netscape Navigator because, it didn’t render many websites properly. I don’t know what was wrong with it.

Whatever, I know Firefox stole the idea of tabbed browsing from Opera, then, Internet explorer 7 stole the same tabbed Idea, now everyone is going tabbed browsing which is good. After all, it’s the significance of one’s greatness to others, and I wonder why they brag.

Firefox is the worst browser till date, higgledy-piggledy browser messed up with overwhelming buggiest plugins ever which can’t handle even a tiny “div” tag error and vanishes without a word of warning message. Internet Explorer at least warns me, that it has crashed. But Firefox,?? not at all. It just goes out unnoticed.

I Want to share why I’ve Bad experiences with Firefox, see the following images:

One:
ffdisplay.jpg
This is how Firefox renders my Nepalese Unicode..Total Ugly, grotesque..

And, this is how Internet Explorer 7 renders my Nepalese Unicode.. Exactly the way I wanted

Two:
uglyscrollff.jpg
here it is, Firefox again messing up with my CSS. It is giving damn care about my CSS property and showing that ugly scroll bars which I never wanted

uglyscrollie.jpg
But here in IE, it is again showing me the page the way I wanted. No scroll bar but nice CSS effects

My conclusion is: Both of them are not upto the expectation. If I’ve to compare, at some point they both lacked some qualities of each others. Somewhere, Firefox 2 looked and felt better than IE7, whereas IE7 felt much better than FF2 at some points. Now, this is a real fuss for me to switch over browsers to check things here and there. However, to some extent, IE7 was good for me than firefox.

And I suggest you guys to use SAFARI(surprised?? lol). Download it and use it. If you think your site is ugly, then check it through Safari browser. You’ll be astonished. It is still in beta but I bet you’ll love it. I’m loving it. I don’t want to brag this and that about this browser, it’s like just use and feel yourself :D

    hi,
I have read all your post and I was wondering how is it possible that on your computer IE works better than Firefox. I’m a webdesigner and to tell the truth I’ve learned that IE doesn’t show properly what I do but firefox do it. Safari shows it well but use its own scroll bars… I don’t understand what is the problem with firefox, but even if it isn’t the best I won’t use IE or safari cause thes aren’t really free one is the property of microsoft and the other of apple, so maybe if you don’t like friefox you can try Opera… But I tell the truth when I say that for a webdesigner IE is the worst…

Hi Yami, thank you for your note,
may be you missed this article of mine :
    http://technewsnepal.com/tnnmain/2008/02/04/how-to-browse-sites-made-for-ie-in-firefox-without-a-hiccup.html

where I wrote that I’m happy about Firefox now since the plugins are letting me do the things easily or may be I ‘m being loyal to Microsoft before since my dream job is to work for Microsoft. That would be bias view if I say so, but Yeah I must agree, Firefox is free and opensource and I respect those people making it free and open-source but that doesn’t mean they can bully their competitor. anyways, Firefox is nice browser, my first experience with Firefox was worst and this post was the result which I don’t want to delete for some reasons. But I knew there are other workarounds .

you know, I’m using Firefox and IE, I love both of them. :)

and thanks for your comments, keep visiting and you know, wow.. you managed to read all the contents.. wow.. This blog is up for just 2-3 weeks actively. :)

Got something to say?
