WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin
January 18, 2008
I was usually doing manual upgrade to update my wordpress engine.
That is :
- Downloading wordpress upgrade installation file from www.wordpress.org
- Extracting it to local folder
- Logging into admin panel and deactivating each and every plugins
- Launching ftp client
- finally, uploading wordpress upgrade installation files as instructed
(oh I normally backed up wp-admin folder and other root files before upload/replace them)
I was happy with the above steps unless I stumbled upon WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin
I was astonished that It automatically did all upgrading within 1 minute. Yeah, 1 minute. What I did are as follows:
- I downloaded WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin
- I extracted the content and uploaded it to the /wp-content/plugins folder of my remote server
- From the dashboard ’s plugins, I activated ‘WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin’
- Under dashboard ’s Manage , I clicked ‘Automatic Upgrade’ and the rest is all done by itself.

When done, it greeted me with congratulation message giving me link to download my database backup and other root files backup along with log file too.
It’s easy upgrading wordpress. Never knew, there was a plugin like this. Now, upgrading Wordpress is a hassle-free job.
